Guest Lecture: Critical Conversations with Dr. Sarah Nickel
I have crossed paths with scholars and work undertaken by the Centre for Human Rights Research at the University of Manitoba many times. It was in a seminar similar to the one that gave rise to this event where I began to refine my research into what would develop into my MA project.
In this talk, I was interested to hear Dr. Sarah Nickel explore the historical connections between political activism and social policy through the second half of the 20th century. “They [Indigenous women and mothers] were just doing what needed to be done”.
